Robert Schumann was equally fascinated by music and poetry - so much so that in his compendium 'Poet’s Garden of Music' he assembled texts on music which he considered important from numerous regions and periods of world literature.

The Bärmann Trio juxtaposes recitations of excerpts from his anthology with works by Schumann which are particularly inspired by poetic association.
