Ronald Frost (organ)About
His writing is fresh and individual but firmly rooted in the English cathedral tradition and worthy of acceptance into the mainstream canon. The accompanying booklet contains detailed notes written by the composer on each piece.
Ronald Frost was born in Lancashire and is Principal Lecturer in Organ, Keyboard Musicianship and harmony & Counterpoint at the Royal Northern College of Music. He has also published compositions for organ (and also for voices and chamber groups). He is also Organist and Choirmaster of St. Ann’s Church in Manchester where this recording was made.
The organ at St. Ann’s Church was built and installed in 1730. A major rebuild was undertaken in 1996, thereby enabling us today to hear this fine instrument in all its glory.
