Michael SchneiderAbout
Georg Philipp Telemann wrote solo or double instrumental concertos for all the wind instruments during his compositional oeuvre – for oboe and oboe d’amore, for transverse flute, recorder, and flauto pastorale, for trumpet and horn, and for chalumeau and bassoon. Since he himself could play all these instruments, he wrote extremely idiomatic scores flattering the instrument and of great appealing charm to the instrumentalist.
Telemann’s instrumental parts are unique in that they draw their influences from Italian, French, German, and Polish styles.
