Pärt has been part of Järvi’s life since childhood, as the composer knew the Järvi family well. There are several family connections in the music here, including Credo, given its premiere by conductor father Neeme Järvi in 1968, and Silhouette, written for son Paavo and the Orchestre de Paris, of which he was then music director, in 2009. ... All get fine performances from Järvi and his orchestra, including the most familiar, the grieving Cantus in memoriam Benjamin Britten and radiant Fratres.
