About
A central component of the project will be the recording of a total of five CDs with Schubert songs at Harmonia Mundi, which chronologically trace the work of the last years of Schubert's life.
The “SCHUBERT 200” project is aimed at a new generation of song audiences and is dedicated to the question of the extent to which Schubert’s songs are relevant to our lives in the 21st century and how this connection can be made audible and tangible.
This second volume of lieder explores the masterpieces of the years 1824 and 1825. Following a period of self-doubt and despondency at the diagnosis of a disease he knew to be incurable, Schubert regained hope thanks to the support of his friend, the baritone Johann Michael Vogl. Samuel Hasselhorn and Ammiel Bushakevitz take us on a wonderful journey from darkness to light.
