Baroque music is a paradox: it is hundreds of years old and at the same time more present in the music of today than perhaps any other music of earlier periods. After all, it has so much in common with the popular music of our time: clear forms, rousing rhythms, melodies that catch the ear. With baroque works, we can talk about the past so naturally as if they had been written a few days ago. The most exciting combinations with music from the 17th and 18th centuries are therefore contemporary works that stand between art music and popular music: In RUSH, Juri Vallentin and ensemble reflektor combine highly virtuosic baroque concerti with short pieces from today and unite the pulse of the present with baroque splendour.
