This recording adds to the complete recording of Reger's works for men's choir with works with orchestral accompaniment, including a collection of Sieben Gesänge für Männerchor und Klavier (Seven Songs for Men’s Choir and Piano), compiled from Reger's early works -a series of rather shorter, slender songs in a cyclical arc on spring, love, the past, winter and death. The album also includes Hymne an den Gesang (Hymn to singing), Die Weihe der Nacht (Consecration of the Night), the orchestral song An die Hoffnung (To Hope) and Reger's Römischer Triumphgesang (Roman Song of Triumph).
