In the small discography of Les Concerts royaux, most of them are recorded with the classical use of the harpsichord solo or, as the practice of the time suggests, with a violin, bassoon, viola and lute. What is rare and interesting in our version is the use of the soprano recorder and the voice flute in the third concert. This is a choice that Maria Giovanna Fiorentino and the Ensemble I Fiori Musicali go through on the basis of the music taste of the Court of Louis XIV. This CD is not intended for being “original”, but it is absolutely interesting from the point of view of the choice of intruments and the musical practice of the time.
