Atma presents 'The Epiphany', the fifth volume in its project to record the sacred cantatas of J S Bach in conjunction with the annual Montréal Baroque Festival. Cantatas BWV 72, 81, 155, 156 are performed on original instruments with an all-star international orchestra under the direction of American conductor and continuo player Eric Milnes.
German singers Monika Mauch and Franziska Gottwald, English tenor Charles Daniels, and Dutch bass Harry van der Kamp are featured both as soloists and in the choral sections, singing one voice per part in an interpretation faithful to historical sources.
