About

In her moving autobiography "Ich sang um mein Leben", Judith Schneiderman narrates how she sang as a girl in a concentration camp in order to survive. Later she sang these songs to her daughter, opera singer Helene Schneiderman, during her early childhood.

As Helene Schneiderman made her career far away from home in Germany, she was accompanied by a self-sung cassette of her mother as a connection to her family. The Yiddish songs included on this CD mean a lot to her and you can hear that from the first to the last track on this moving disc.
